THE STORY
The life of Inés, a 14-year-old girl from Pinotepa Nacional, Oaxaca, is much like that of her friends—she goes to school and takes urban dance classes. But in her free time, she assists her uncle Lásaro, the local forensic doctor, performing autopsies, post-mortem examinations, and embalming procedures.
Inés’s everyday life is disrupted as she prepares for her quinceañera, when her waltz partner, Juanito, becomes interested in accompanying her to the post-mortem procedures.
